The Mechanism of 67GaAssociation with Lymphocytes1

Received February 20, 1974; accepted June 12,1974. lymphomas, the tumor type that accumulates 67Ga avidly; (ft) T-lymphocytes have been shown to be present in large numbers at the sites of abscesses, which also accumulate 67Ga well; and (c) T-lymphocytes are able to be transformed readily with mitogens, thereby converting a quiescent, nondividing population of cells into a proliferating population. The leukocytes (including T-lymphocytes) were separated from human peripheral blood by dextran sedimentation and centrifugation. Following centrifugation, the buffy coat was removed and remaining red cells were lysed by a 30-sec treatment in distilled water.
